FAQs

What ingredients should I avoid if I have sensitive skin?

The most common triggers: synthetic fragrance, alcohol denat, sulfates (SLS/SLES), high-strength alpha hydroxy acids, retinoids, essential oils at high concentration (especially citrus, mint and clove), and methylisothiazolinone (a common preservative flagged for sensitisation). All products in this collection are screened against these.

Is “fragrance-free” different from “unscented”?

Yes. “Fragrance-free” means no fragrance ingredients (synthetic or natural) added. “Unscented” can mean fragrance has been added to neutralise the smell of other ingredients. For genuine sensitive skin, always look for “fragrance-free”.

Can I use exfoliants if my skin is sensitive?

Yes, but gently. PHA (polyhydroxy acids) and very low-strength lactic acid (under 5%) are well tolerated by most sensitive skin. Avoid scrubs with sharp particles and high-strength AHA/BHA combinations until barrier function is rebuilt.

How long before I see calmer skin?

Barrier repair takes time — typically 4 weeks of consistent, minimal routine to see meaningful improvement, and 8-12 weeks for fully resilient skin. Resist the urge to “treat” reactive skin with more products; less is more here.
